The 2026-2027 Program begins September 2026 and ends May 2027. Hands-on modules include benchtop and clinical experiences unlike any other program (varies each module). Doctors may earn between 300-320 CE Hours and have the option to pursure credentialling with the AAID upon successful completion and examination.
A Comprehensive CE Continuum
with Live-Patient Clinical Rotations*
The AAID Maxicourse San Jose offers a unique program that offers an optional live-patient surgery experience performed by the attendee doctors (California dental license required). These clinical rotations are small-group experiences placing single implants on real patients, under direct supervision of surgical instructors. Optional clinical rotations take place on Thursdays. Additional CE is granted for clinical rotations. All attendees will experience hands-on experiences in implant surgery, prosthetics, grafting, and phlebotomy. Cadaver lab experience is included in the program. Note the order of module topics below are subject to change based on faculty availability.
Module 01 - 3 Days
Implant Foundations & Treatment Planning Scope of clinical implantology, patient evaluation, diagnostic protocols, treatment planning fundamentals, and various radiographic analysis.
Module 02- 3 Days
Surgical Complications & Pharmacology Master medication protocols and learn to prevent, identify, and manage surgical complications with confidence.
Module 03- 3 Days
Surgical Principles & Implant Placement Develop core surgical skills from incision design and flap management to precise implant positioning.
Module 04- 3 Days
Bone Grafting, Regeneration & PRF Advance your capabilities with bone augmentation techniques, guided bone regeneration, and platelet-rich fibrin protocols.
Module 05- 3 Days
Digital Dentistry & Guided Workflows Integrate CBCT imaging, digital planning software, and guided surgery into your clinical workflow.
Module 06- 3 Days
Prosthetics & Ceramic Implants Master restorative protocols from single-tooth to full-arch, including the latest in ceramic implant systems.
Module 07- 3 Days
Soft Tissue, Peri-Implant Health & Cadaver Training Refine soft tissue management and deepen anatomical understanding through hands-on cadaver dissection. *Alternate location.
Module 08 - 3 Days
Full-Arch Rehabilitation Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, Surgery, Prosthetics Complete your education with complex full-arch cases, from diagnosis to surgery and prosthetics.
Module 09- 3 Days
Marketing Business Management and Legal Considerations Complete your education with the key essentials to integrate implantology into your practice. NOTE: Participants need to sign up with AAID directly to take the Associate Fellow Exam (exam fees not included in the course tuition).

The AAID MaxiCourse® is your pathway to Associate Fellow standing with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Upon completion, you'll be eligible to take the Associate Fellow written examination—a distinguished credential that signals advanced training and sets you apart in the field of implant dentistry.
Examination Details (Part I)
Part 1 of 2 of the Associate Fellow exam is designed to assess your knowledge of basic science, “entry-level” knowledge and understanding of implant dentistry principles, and the ability to apply these principles in a clinical situation. Candidates have four hours to complete 150 multiple-choice questions, administered via remote proctored exam. The examination fee is not included in maxicourse registration.
NOTE: Participants need to sign up with AAID directly to take the Associate Fellow Exam (exam fees not included in the course tuition).

Doctors wishing to participate in the hands-on surgical placement require: Proof of active California dental license, active malpractice insurance, and no pending disciplinary Board Action in any jurisdiction.
Your Questions Answered
Do you offer new graduate discounts?
Yes, absolutely! Gaduates of 2022-2025 receive a $2,500 discount. The discount and payment arrangements will be made after you seat has been reserved.
Is my $1,500 deposit refundable?
Yes. After your deposit is made, our staff will reach out to you to offer payment options for the 2026-2027 program. Any cancellation before July 1st, 2026 will be refunded. Cancellations made after July 1st, 2026 are not guaranteed a refund.
Do I need a Califonia License? How do I get licensed?
An active California Dental License in good standing, active malpractice insurnace are required to provide live patient treatment. Doctors must not have any pending disciplinary action with any state board. A California license is only required for the optional live-patient implant placement rotations. Visit the Dental Board of California website to review options for licensure. We recommend applying as soon as possible before the program starts.
Do I need to provide my own patients?
No. You do not need to provide your own patients. However, if you would like to bring a patient you are welcome to do so, pending review and consultation with program faculty.
